Abstract

The research object of the article is the well-known work «Kitab-i mecmu-i Tercuman-i Turki ve
acemi ve mugali». It is impossible to say that Kazakhstani scientific readers are familiar with this work. This
workhas greathistorical significance.Itprovides a lot of information not only from the language oftheMamluk
Kipchaks, but also from the historical and political situations. The book «Kitab-i mecmu-i Tercuman-i Turki ve
acemi ve mugali» is an invaluable source in the study of historical-comparative linguistics, the definition of
lexico-semantic fields, the development of sounds, and the interpretation ofhistorical grammar. It is impossible
to carry out an analysis of work in the scope of one article. The article explores the names of plants listed in the
book. Phytonyms include garden plants, tree names, grasses, and industrial crops. Some plant names of the
ancientKipchak language arepreserved in theKazakh language without anychanges. There are also names that
are not found in the Kazakh language, which are interpreted with thehelp of translation. Words retain not only
meaning but also historical information. In this regard, the study of historical texts is a topical issue.
