Abstract

In 2022, the thirtieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Italian Republic and the
country of Central Asia is celebrated. These thirty years have demonstrated mutual interest, friendship, and
fruitful cooperation in political, economic and cultural fields between the Italian and the peoples of Central
Asia. Today, in cooperation between the Italian Republic and the countries of Central Asia, topical issues of
interregional and global cooperation remain, including the joint fight against the negative consequences of the
pandemic.
In the multilateral format, the goal is to restore pre-crisis indicators of mutual trade and investment, as
well as priority areas for interaction between the countries of the region and Italy. The problem of the Afghan
question in these relations is a separate area.
The article deals with the issues of cooperation of the Italian Republic with the countries of Central Asia for
30 years. The main aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation are analyzed, and the stages are analyzed
and defined. In conclusion, the authors conclude that the political spectrum of interaction has been and is an
important area of cooperation, however, only in conjunction with economic interests is it able tomeet the needs
and aspirations of partners.
