Cultural and Linguistic Processes in the Language of the Ahiska Turks In Modern Kazakhstan

Abstract

This article examines the peculiarities of the language of the Turkish diaspora of the Kazakhstan
ahiska. In particular, the linguocultural characteristics of the lexicon, which is borrowed from the Kazakh and
Russian languages, denoting the terms of kinship in the language of the Turks of Ahiska living in Kazakhstan, thereby
showing the current processes occurring in the language of the Turkish diasporas. The vocabulary for the analysis
were written out of the transcribed texts of the records of the speech of the Turks of Kazakhstan in the framework of
the international project “Interaction of the Turkic languages and cultures in post-Soviet Kazakhstan” (the project was
carried out with the grant of the Volkswagen Foundation, Germany). Project leaders were associate professor of the
Berlin Free University and Frankfurt University I.A. Nevskaya, professor of the Berlin Free University K. Schönig,
professors of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU N.G. Shaimerdinova, S.Zh. Tazhibaeva. Also volunteers from among students,
undergraduates and doctoral students from Germany and Kazakhstan took part in the project.
