Abstract

The article considers the political prerequisites of the development of migration processes in Kazakhstan at the present stage and in the historical context. The essence of migration processes and its specificity in Kazakhstan, starting with Stolypin reforms of the twentieth century, and ending with the current situation. The author
discusses reasons for the strengthening of migration processes in the 90-s of the twentieth century. Based on the data
of the population survey, the characteristic of the attitude of the population of Kazakhstan to migrants is given. The
political decisions made by the leadership of Kazakhstan in relation to migration in different historical periods are
analyzed. In conclusion, it is concluded that the involvement of the third sector in the stabilization of the migration
situation, coupled with coordinated competent actions of state bodies and loyal good-neighborly attitude of the population can greatly reduce the severity of migration issues and stabilize the ongoing migration processes in the country.
