Abstract

The article reveals the key trends of implementing the strategic programme “Rukhani Zhangyru”
(Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity), analyzes the socially important projects of modernization of social and
political, historical and cultural values of the people in Kazakhstan.
The article allows determining in what extent the draft programmes on “Rukhani Zhangyru” impact upon the
development of various regions and social groups of Kazakhstan’s population.
The core criteria for the modernization of Kazakhstan’s identity and the depth of their influence on the success of
the objectives of the programme implementation have been determined.
Six major projects of the programme have been highlighted (“The Cult of Knowledge”, “Transition of the Kazakh
Alphabet to Latin Alphabet”, “Homeland”, “Modern Kazakh Culture in the Global World”, “100 New Faces of
Kazakhstan”, “Sacred Geography of Kazakhstan”); from the date of publication of the article by Nursultan Nazarbayev
the analysis of programme implementation has been held.
On this basis, certain recommendations are proposed for improving and enhancing the effectiveness of the
implementation of each of the six above-mentioned projects of the programme on modernization of Kazakhstan’s
identity.
The findings and conclusions proposed in the article may have the practical significance to define the priorities at
the new stage of programme implementation.
