Cultural, linguistic, ethnic, and religious relations between Iran and the countries of the Central
Asian region have existed for a long time, and there are also certain economic and political relations that have
already been formed. This article examines the cultural relationship between Iran and each of the countries
of the Central Asian region. The role of Iran in the «great game» and the peculiarities of the policy of cultural
influence on the space of Central Asia are noted. After gaining independence of the republic of the region,
focusing on their national cultural values, traditions, and heritage, and promoting them to the new generation,
they also identified historical and cultural commonalities with Muslim countries. The stages of development of
cultural ties on certain historical events between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the states of Central Asia are
presented.
