Scenario and forecasts of the Russian Federation’s energy policy towards the People’s Republic of China

Abstract

This article examines the current state of energy cooperation between the Russian
Federation and the People’s Republic of China. At the same time, the article makes forecasts of the development
of energy cooperation taking into account the changes and risks of bilateral political and economic relations. The
article emphasizes that recently the parties have reached a number of large-scale and long-term agreements in
the energy sector. This allows us to talk about the release of energy cooperation between Russia and China to a
qualitatively new level and gaining a strategic character. The purpose of this article is to determine Russia’s energy
policy and the impact of internal and external factors on the prospects for Russian-Chinese energy cooperation
