Central Asian countries will have a mixed year in 2022 due to the impact of the
Russia-Ukraine conflict. Within the countries, they are entering a period of post-independence
rule by a new generation of leaders, with various reforms in process. The ruling authorities
have a strong control, with anti-corruption and anti-monopoly as their grip, and have won
the support of the majority of the population, enough to stabilize the situation without major
unrest, but the effect of reforms in various areas needs time to test. The domestic economy has
entered a period of resumed growth due to the lifting of restrictions on epidemic sealing, with
supply chain security and increased inflation being the biggest challenges.
