Abstract

Тhe second half of the 20-30-ies of XX century in the Egyptian historical novel is planned
formation of a new, patriotic. Getting him to put such novelists as Ali al-Jary, Farid Abu Hadid, Mohammed Saeed
al-Arya. The article examines the works of the famous writer Mohammed Said al-Aryan, his place and role in the development
of the historical novel genre. Particular attention is paid to the ideological and thematic side of the works of this
writer. In order to create a general picture of the author’s work, some of his historical novels are briefly considered.
From the point of view of the style, the historical novels of Mohammed al-Ariana belong to realism. The writer
clearly tends to depict the vitality of the situations shown, the social conditioning of the characters’ images.
