Essence and basic concepts of nation-building

Abstract

Nation-building is closely connected with the development of state-building. The protection
of important dimensions of nation-building is not only the responsibility of the state but also the civic duty
and responsibility of all members of society. Nation-building is one of the most pressing issues in the context
of globalization. Therefore, the problem of nation-building and identity preservation is very relevant in
the context of globalization. The article analyzes the essence and basic concepts of nation-building. The
purpose of the article is to systematize the conclusions related to the concept of nation-building. In the
work, in which the theoretical analysis of the problem was carried out, the methods of bibliographic,
descriptive, systemic, comparative, and conceptual analysis were used. Particular attention was paid to
the keyword «Nation-building in Kazakhstan». The article reveals the connection of nation-building with
other concepts, such as nationality, identity, and film production. Thanks to the lessons given by history
and ideology, the importance of developing nation-building has been proven by the author.
