Abstract

One of the richest and most ancient genres of folklore, the heroic epic is a spiritual heritage that
has been created over the centuries and has its place in world civilization. Heroic epics contain valuable information
about the traditions, culture, history, beliefs, worldview, traditions, spirituality, language and mentality of the people.
The Tuvans, one of the Turkic peoples, have a rich folk heritage, which has been developed and formed for many
centuries.
This article discusses the heroic epics of the Tuvan Turks, their features, researchers, performers and schools.
In addition, the article examines the genre classification of the Tuvinian heroic epic and provides some examples of
motifs common to heroic epics, such as infertility, childhood of a warrior, the initiation, the horse.
