Turkish writer Huseyn Nihal Atsyz began writing historical novels in the mid-twentieth century. His historical trilogy "Grey Fierce" shook the mind of Turkish society and stretched through the deep roots of history. The power and eternal stabilization of the great states founded by the Turks are proved by historical facts and interpreted by artistic style.The first book of the historical trilogy "Gray Fierce" by H. N. Atsyz is called "The Death of Gray Fierce". The storyline of the story described in the novel is the foundation of the Turkic Khaganate, its division into two parts, and the fierce struggle conducted against the Chinese dynasty. The struggle against the Chinese is reliably described, in some places the Turks were superior to them, and in some places they lost in a fierce battle. The author perfectly describes especially the heroism of the ancient Turks, who, despite the Chinese invasions and treachery, preserved the Turkic identity.The article deals with the issues of Turkic identity in the historical novel "The Death of the Gray Fierce" by the famous Turkish writer Huseyn Nihal Atsyz.
