In the article the features of the development of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region are considered. Particularly, Japan is concerned about the current nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula. The historical reasons for the creation of the nuclear weapons of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea are determined. The current nucle-ar crisis in North Korea is becoming a global threat to all mankind. Especially the threat to geopolitics of Asia-Pacific region is very high.Japan thinks that North Korea is a serious threat to its national security. Therefore, North Korea occupies an im-portant place in Japan’s foreign policy and Japan fully supports US policy on the Korean peninsula.The importance of the problem of nuclear disarmament on the Korean peninsula is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to Japan’s policy towards the DPRK.Recently, Japan supports the beginning of the process of denuclearization between the US and the DPRK. Howev-er, the implementation of the denuclearization process on the Korean peninsula is still completely unresolved.
