Cultural cooperation represents a significant dimension of Kazakhstan–India bilateral relations, rooted in historical interactions along the Silk Road and further strengthened in the post-Soviet period through renewed political, diplomatic, and humanitarian engagement. This study examines the evolution, current state, and key trends of cultural relations between the two countries, focusing on historical and cultural ties, religious and philosophical discourse, education, literature, arts, and cinema. Attention is focused on the role of institutional mechanisms, such as bilateral agreements, cultural centers, academic partnerships, and people-to-people exchanges, in fostering cultural dialogue and mutual understanding. This study demonstrates that cultural cooperation plays a pivotal role in deepening bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and India and in fostering broad regional connectivity between Central and South Asia. Furthermore, it highlights the growing importance of cultural diplomacy and soft power as key instruments in contemporary international relations. Based on historical analysis and contemporary policy shifts, this study indicates that cultural ties have become a key pillar of the India-Kazakhstan partnership. Despite challenges such as limited direct connectivity and a lack of public awareness, the rise in digital engagement, educational mobility, and heritage-based tourism offers significant opportunities for deeper cooperation. The study also suggests that sustained cultural engagement can foster mutual trust, promote people-to-people connectivity, and create a favourable and conducive environment for long-term strategic cooperation.
